We Provide Services to Strengthen Families

We provide support in the forms of financial assistance, family support and advocacy.

Financial Assistance

Any child residing in a low-income household in Santa Barbara County and diagnosed with a critical illness before their 18th birthday is eligible for consideration. Bills are paid directly to the provider of the services. Services include and are not limited to rental assistance, utilities, car payments, car insurance, lodging assistance, and child necessities such as diapers and wipes. We provide emergency food vouchers and gas cards for families to travel to and from medical appointments.

Family Support

Our family support program assists families by securing items such as gas and grocery cards for upcoming medical appointments or emergency trips to the hospital. We deliver items such as diapers, wipes and other household and items provided by other organizations such as food and clothing, in cases where the family does not have means to pick up the items themselves. We provide additional resources/referrals to other organizations that may be outside our scope of support.

We work with families and their social workers to assist them in understanding their child’s medical diagnosis, medical coverage, and medical bills. We bridge the gap between the healthcare providers by following-up with the family at home to ensure they understand discharge instructions to care for their child.
